Following the methods of my previous work, I continue to explore the myths and legends of my Andean roots. Mythological Stays is a syncretism of Andean and European beliefs. This new collection of paintings reflects my inner self and work towards creating an expression of my personal mythology based on my own experiences of the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ continents. In my present paintings, religion and politics, intellect and emotions, mind and body are unified to create a total iconography. I deliberately use a symbolic and surrealist style to narrate these new myths and I invite the viewers to create their own meanings.
